The RPG-7 anti-tank grenade launcher is an impressively robust, simple, and deadly weapon. Despite the successful field trials of the RPG-4 in 1961, the superior range and armor piercing capabilities of the RPG-7 made it the weapon of choice for the Soviet Armed forces that year. Now, the RPG-7 is employed by military forces in over forty countries and is reportedly used by various terrorist organizations across the Middle East and Latin America.
There are numerous versions of the RPG-7, each refined and optimized for specific operational scenarios and targets. Some notable models include the standard RPG-7V, RPG-7D paratrooper model, the lighter Chinese Type 69 RPG, and various local variants produced by countries that have adopted the system.
